February 15th, 2013.
Our second sew and chat meet up happened again at my home.
It was just as fun as the first but a little different as we were already "old friends", Karen, who also had her first quilting course with, Deb McQuire, came along too.
Jane who is already on her second quilt brought along her first one for us to see.

Hi, at last we had our first Sew and Chat. Four of us, Jane, Sue Towse and myself, Eleanor, met at my home in Wendover.
During our two hour (which extended easily to nearly four hours!) get together, there was a lot of chat, quite a lot of sewing and even a little teaching, but what was really lovely was sharing our work with each other and helping each other with little problems..... Jane had to help me perfect a good way of hiding the thread when starting a new length of thread on the top of a quilt.
Towse, a natural teacher, taught us how to make a "secret garden" You can see a few in the foreground.

This is us, Sue, Towse, myself and Jane.
Towse with her beautiful jewel coloured quilt top. I think it's for a very large bed!
I'd like to add a link to Debs McQuire's blog spot. It is:plainstitch.blogspot.com
Here you can find out about more of Deb's wonderful Quilting courses etc.
I hope you have enjoyed this blog, please give me ideas for the future so that we will all be able to add to this site.
See you soon, Eleanor
